Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any questions that are not covered by this page, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us and we will do our best to help.
How do I apply for a place?
Schools who wish to apply for a place for one of their pupils, should fill in a referral form. We will then be in touch with you to discuss the next steps.
I am a parent, can I apply for a place for my child?
When we open, we will only be accepting referrals from local schools and the local authority.
How is your school different from my child's current school?
We offer a tailored education programme for pupils who struggle to cope in mainstream provision. Our approach will vary from child to child, but is characterised by small group sessions that are tailored to meet the needs of individual pupils. This will be discussed in detail once a child is offered a place with us.
How long is a placement at The Valiant School?
Where possible, we aim to reintegegrate our pupils back into mainstream provision. We aim to do this as quickly as possible. However, for some pupils, such as those who are better suited to small group tuition, this might not be possible and/or desireable. Every pupil will be considered on a case by case basis.
Can I look around your facilities before accepting a place for my child?
We understand the need to work in close partnership with parents and carers and recognise that you will want to ensure that our school is a good fit for your child. Once the school opens, it will be possible to arrange a tour of our facilities. For safeguarding reasons this will be via appointment only. Upon offering a placement, the child, their parents and the referrer will also be invited for a pre-admission meeting, which will normally take place on the school premises.
